KS3 Maths Averages
There are plenty of talking points in the lesson to do with misleading statistics – the underlying theme of the lesson is to learn that the meaning of average is ‘usual’ or ‘normal’, but that it can be twisted to give a very different impression.
Description
By the end of the Lesson:
ALL students will be able to find the MODE, MEDIAN and MEAN for sets of data.
MOST students will be able to tell me which of the three is the best one to use.
SOME students will be able to tell me the strengths and weaknesses of the various forms of average.
