Ace Week formally known as Asexual Awareness Week (24th-30th October) aims to look beyond awareness💜🌈
Ace people face invalidating health care systems, legal protections that are ambiguous and histories that risk being forgotten. Aceweek.org shares that “by embracing the name “Ace Week,” we’re making a commitment to do more than simply raise awareness, and we hope you’ll join us.”💜
They also share that this week “gives us all an opportunity to celebrate how far our community has come and to dream about the future we will create together.” We will be sharing posts to lift the voices of the Ace community today and always 💖

Parents in East London stage anti-LGBT+ education protest outside primary school
Parents gathered to protest the new RSE curriculum in place, that came into effect September 2020. “Don’t Confuse Children”, “I Do Not Content”, “Too Much, Too Soon” and “Education, Not Sexualisation” were included on the placards. Parents are demanding that teaching about LGBTQ+ families comes to an end.
Schools must teach RE in accordance to the RSE curriculum set out by the Department for Education and comply with the relevant provisions of the Equality Act 2010 🌈💖
Unfortunately, times like these show us why our work is still needed in schools to ensure students and staff feel and are safe.

94% of secondary students said they felt more confident in expressing their views and were able to be themselves in school after our intervention 💪🏼
We deliver relaxed, fun and interactive sessions that take participants on the journey to inclusion using strategies to bring the whole community on board.

Dr Elly Barnes says : “This is a huge personal challenge to complete my first Camino De Santiago: 80km over 4 days at the end of October 2021 to raise money for my big love in life, E&C.I’ve been in training for over a year now and have managed to accumulate several injuries alongside broken, black and disappearing toe nails; however I’m getting fitter, breathing easier, climbing epic mountains and generally getting stronger”💪

Students walk out of class in solidarity with trans student banned from using the girls’ changing room
A student in Temple High School, Texas was told that’s she couldn’t use the changing rooms because there were “actual girls in there”. Kendall was then told by a member of staff to change in a CLOSET with another male. 😥
The student is now being monitored by staff. She posts on IG “Temple High you say all students are equal, so why treat us any different”. This is SO unacceptable and heartbreaking 💔 As educators, we need to be protecting our trans and gender nonconforming youth not excluding them further. We are sending our love and support to Kendall and all the students who stood in solidarity with her💜🏳️‍⚧️
