We are bringing you some fabulous book recommendations this 🏳️‍⚧️ #TransAwarenessWeek 🏳️‍⚧️
First up, we have How to Transform your school into an LGBT+ friendly place, written by Dr Elly Barnes CEO & Founder of Educate & Celebrate and Dr Anna Carlile, Social Justice Pedagogue & Head of Education at Goldsmiths University of London. It is a practical guide for all nursery, primary and secondary school teachers.
Next we have Trans Pride: A Colouring Book by Fox Fisher. This fun and beautifully illustrated colouring book: Trans Pride is perfect for inspiring children aged 5+ to explore their creative expression and learn about the beauty and diversity of trans lives. With over 100 pages of positive transgender and non-binary representation, the book includes illustrations of key figures in trans history, gender flags, key terms, empowering statements and awareness days.
Last but by no means least, we have What’s The T? by Juno Dawson. It is an essential read that tackles the complex realities of growing up trans. As Juno puts it “your gender is a BIGGY” which makes it even more important that Juno has included the voices of her trans and non-binary friends.
We also have our 🌈 Pride Book Collection 🌈 that has been collated to not only pass on this rich history of influential and ground-breaking texts but also to give voices to a broad range of new authors with the aim of providing young people of all ages with the information they need to be their authentic selves.

Have your voice heard. The consultation for banning conversion therapy is now open!🙏🏼
This consultation seeks views on proposals on how the government plan to ban these practices, which particularly affect LGBT people. This consultation will be open for 6 weeks, closing on Friday 10 December at 11:45pm.
Please read the consultation document and then submit your responses online. It is encouraged that everyone with an interest to respond to this consultation and will ensure that all responses are considered in the development of legislation that is being prepared for spring 2022.
